Socio-Economic Preconditions for the Development of Administrative Vocabulary in Bulgarian Language (since the Liberation till 1920s of the 20th century)

The emergence of administrative vocabulary is closely linked to the social structure and economic development of Bulgarian society after the Liberation. Although traces of the official-business style can be found as early as the Renaissance – a document from 1841, after the Liberation the style developed dynamically – Turkisms were gradually replaced by Russisms or Church Slavonic vocabulary. Since the development of the literary language, the development of the style has accelerated, thanks to the emerging needs of new administrative and international relations. Tracing the socio-economic prerequisites for the development of administrative vocabulary is an important task due to the connection between language and historical context.
