## Partitive implicational systematicity in the terms denoting anatomical directions in medical terminology

**Abstract:**The article considers medical terminology as a complex, systematically organized linguistic structure, in which Latin and ancient Greek terms provide international precision. The focus is on the partitive implicational systematicity – the “part-whole” relationship between terms naming anatomical directions. It is shown that these terms form hierarchical relationships, in which one term is more general and another – more specific, with the specific “implying” the general. By analyzing several terminological pairs (anterior–ventralis, posterior–dorsalis, superior–cranialis, inferior–caudalis) it is shown how medical language achieves precision: general terms mark broad anatomical areas, and more specific ones – specific segments within them. This demonstrates the logical order of medical terminology and its universality, which provides accurate orientation in the human body regardless of language.

The results show that all children produce overgeneralizations, but children with SLI compared to children with normal language development display both a higher total number of errors, and a higher variety of overgeneralized forms.

**Keywords:**Bulgarian morphology, overgeneralizations, verb forms, children with Specific Language Impairments (SLI).

## Preliminary words 01-02-2025

The journal "Modern Linguistics" continues confidently on its path. Confidently because it publishes the texts of young people who have chosen the path of their future through the power of words and through the temptation to engage in linguistics. We encounter many difficulties on our way. The biggest of them is to become part of global platforms such as Web of Science and Scopus. And not because we are technically not ready, on the contrary - we are ready. We do not have enough strength to measure our capabilities in the field of citations with established names in science. Names established over the years. And yes, we do not have enough, because the texts of our young researchers are often their first steps in the vast field of linguistics. We will overcome this obstacle and it will not stop us from being a starting point for so many students and doctoral candidates who, through our journal, boldly declare their voice in science. We will not give up, because working at Sofia University means, first and foremost, believing in your students; to support them and give them wings with which to defend their thinking and their philological ideas, without fear; without repeating in Wikipedia style already expressed opinions, but to make their mark in the history of Bulgarian and world linguistics.

This issue also publishes selected texts by Bulgarian students from the 4th year of the Bulgarian Philology major at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", who, at a specialized round table held in December 2024, presented their own and other observations on the personality of one of the sparks of the Bulgarian Revival - Dr. Petar Beron. The initiative is part of the lectures and exercises on the history of the New Bulgarian literary language and is on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the printing of the "Fish Primer".

The round table is part of the activities of the newly formed Center for the Bulgarian Language, headed by Prof. Gergana Dacheva.
