## The Speeches of Bulgarian Presidents on National Holidays

High linguistic culture, a certain behavior, a connection with the audience – these are all the expectations, especially for presidents all over the world. Bulgaria is no exception. The publicity these personalities have and the social role they fulfill imposes these requirements on them. Through word, behavior and attitude, they build their image – linguistic and non-linguistic in society. That is why it is important to observe, analyze and compare the speech of the presidents on the occasion of national holidays of the Republic of Bulgaria. The features related to key aspects of public speaking, how successful they are and whether they meet the requirement of a high linguistic culture, what are the particularities at the phonetic level and what their role is, are considered.

The object of the inquiry are the motions of „yes” and „no”. ## Hate Speech in Greek Politics – Rhetoric of Ultra- Right Hrisi Avgi (Χρυσή Αυγή)

The following research has as its object the political language used in the rhetoric of the far-right political party Hrisi Avgi (Golden Dawn) – the subject within the Greek political space, which stands out with its lean towards neonazism. The publicly demonstrated (not only) verbal aggression stands as a fundamental scar of hate speech, which is clearly used in political slogans, political expression and speeches as well as other instances all of which are the object of this research. The conclusion to which one reaches is that, through the conscious use of hate speech, radical nationalism has reached its peak and has resulted in starting serious conflicts especially on the basis of politics, faith, race and ethnicity. The misuse of harmful lexical and semantic units reaches the threshold of tolerance amongst the public space. Like this Hrisi Avgi suffer their downfall and are removed from the Greek parliament.

**Key words**: rhetoric, Hrisi Avgi, neonazism, hate speech, conflicts, Greek parliament.

## Perception of Homer’s “Iliad” in Bulgarian Renaissance

The article will observe the adaptation an exemplary work like the „The Iliad” of Homer in theperiod of the Bulgarian Revival. Very significant is the scientific reflection on the familiar trend of „artisticre-creation” of „redrawing” of the source text to the expectations of the perceived literature. Not surprisingly the reception of Homer creates a constructive field for the critical thinking in the cultural situation in the Bulgarian national Revival. The new type of readership builds up from the self-knowledge of the new type of literary criticism.

**Key words:**Bulgarian Revival, Homer’s reception, literary criticism, popular textbook literature, Bulgarisation (adaptation), enlightenment purposes, scientific reflection.

## On the Compound Words in Medieval DIDACTIC GOSPEL

**Annotation**: The object of study is the Middle Bulgarian Gospel Homiliary, known in science as the Patriarchal Homilier of second type. The Slavonic translation is preserved in numerous manuscripts. The excerption of the first three sermons of the representative codexes (Zograf 134 and St. Troyko Sergieva Lavra 100) is limited to the compounds without any divergences between two copies. The results of the analysis allow us to draw some conclusions about the system of Slavic compounds, as well as to trace their development from the Old Bulgarian to the Middle Bulgarian period of the development of the literary language.

**Key words**: Gospel Homiliary, Patriarchal Homiliary II type, compounds

## Preliminary words 02-2019

The second issue of the journal "Contemporary Linguistics" for 2019 is already a fact. We continue the tradition of publishing the scientific contributions only of young linguists - students and doctoral candidates, who are now taking their first steps in science. The task is very difficult and therefore deserves the efforts and patience.

A linguist is shaped as a scientist throughout his life, but the first steps are of great importance for his development. Unlike other journals that claim to be intended for texts by young researchers, but fail for various reasons, our journal holds the line to print the scientific contributions of young humanities linguists, understanding this as a real concern for the next generations of scientists who must declare their presence in the field of science. And as a scale in working with young researchers.
